DiscoverCast: OpenAI ChatGPT for iOS

Transcript
Hello everyone, and welcome to the first ever discovercast. My name is Michael Doey's and this is recorded completely from the iPhone. So this is very sighting. We are looking at the OpenAI chat GPT app that is officially out for iPhone, possibly iPad. I haven't looked that far yet. We'll talk about that on the Iacast. And this is very exciting because it is the first official app for chat GPT. So the vibrations have been turned off on the screen recording because they don't want your phone to be constantly vibrating, I guess get in the recording. But as the little messages are typed from chat GPT across the screen, on the initial screen, it does vibrations and things like that. So every character, it types, it vibrates. So it's very interesting. Just the startup screen is very colorful, very flashy, it's very interesting. So let's go ahead and go ahead and see what's on this initial screen.
Speaker B:Continue with Apple Button continue with Google Button sign up with Email button login.
Speaker A:Button so there's a bunch of continue with options. I have an OpenAI account, so we're just going to log in. All right, and we're signed in.

Speaker B:Don't share sensitive info. Cutting anonymized chats may be reviewed by our AI trainers to improve our systems.
Speaker A:So it's saying that the chats may be reviewed and all those good things. So all these things, you just need to assume that's going to happen.

Speaker A:So I believe you can manage your subscription here.
Speaker B:Alert you can't make changes to your subscription inside this app because you purchased this subscription on web, so it sounds.
Speaker A:Like you can purchase your subscription inside of the app. So you don't even have to do it from the web. You could do it in the app, but I purchased it from the web, so that's a difference here.
Speaker B:Okay button Help Center subscription chat data Controls button chat cutting haptic Feedback switch button on so haptic feedback is kind.
Speaker A:Of like what we're talking about at the beginning, where chat GPT on the little intro screen was doing all the haptics. They do that from what I've been told, inside the messages as well when you're typing and you get a response because basically one character is one vibration unit and so that's very interesting. The only thing there is that if you're doing a screen recording, you won't get that, but it's very neat, very cool. Haptic so good on them for adding that. I love haptic feedback, haptic feedback in my apps. So keep that in mind when you're using this. And yeah, it's pretty neat.
Speaker B:So let's keep going about cutting help center button terms of Use privacy Policy licenses but chat GPT for iOS 1.2023 2592 sign out button and you can sign out of your account close Button.
Speaker A:The thing I have not found is if you can enable plugins in this so we're going to keep exploring the screen.
Speaker B:Jeep Menu new message text Field here's what you tap to edit send a new message misspelled words to GPT dictation button sent dimmed but dictation so there is a dictation button voice recording interface and begins recording.
Speaker A:So I doubt that will work right now because I'm doing a screen recording and we could send but let's see.
Speaker B:GPT Four but I'm going to bring.
Speaker A:This back up again.
Speaker B:Close our most plus usage cap close.
Speaker A:Button so maybe you cannot do plugin.
Speaker B:Five GPT menu button new message text dictation sent dip sent dictate new message text Field new message text we're going.
Speaker A:To send a new message point at Start and we're going to look up. What is the Iacast podcast then? We're going to flick over to send.
Speaker B:Sent dimmed I'm sorry for the confusion. GPT I'm sorry for the confusion, but as of my knowledge cut off in September 2021, I don't have any specific information about a podcast called Iacast. The details you're asking for might have come up after my last training data. In general, podcasts can range in subject matter from news and politics to science, history, fiction and beyond. It's best to look up the most recent and specific details about Iacast in a podcast directory or on their official website.
Speaker A:If one so shame on you. OpenAI. The IA cast has been around since 2015. Bad OpenAI. They should know about my podcast. All kidding aside, that was a pretty interesting answer. So that's an example of sending a message to GPT Four. So let's see. Let's do the typical thing, because today is Global Accessibility Awareness Day.
Speaker B:Global Accessibility Awareness Day gad is an awareness day focusing on digital access and inclusion for the more than 1 billion people with disabilities and impairments. It's held annually on the third Thursday of May. The purpose of Gad is to get everyone talking, thinking and learning about digital, web software, mobile, etc. Access and inclusion, and the more than 1 billion people with disabilities impairments. This includes users who have auditory, cognitive, neurological, physical, speech and visual disabilities. The event began when a Los Angeles based web developer, Joe Devon, wrote a blog post in November 2011 calling for a day of awareness. Jennison Asancion, an accessibility professional from Toronto, discovered the blog post and reached out to Joe. And so Gad was born and was first marked in May 2012.
Speaker A:So that's what it returned. Again, trust but verify. So make sure that that's the correct information so people can email [email protected] and let us know if it gave us the right information with that. But it automatically started reading this content. And I also want to point out, it's very interesting that this app came out on Global Accessibility Awareness Day. So is there a coincidence there or did they do that on purpose? There is not a way to add images like with be my eyes and things like that. But you can do all the text things that you could do before. Again, I do not see plugins or web browser mode included. So that's a little disappointed, disappointing. But everything else is here. So this has been an interesting discovery. Just going through this app and seeing what it has, has been very fascinating. And I'm very excited about this. So that's going to wrap it up for this. Discovercast the first one that we've done. So send us feedback at [email protected]. We'd love to hear your feedback and what you have to say and think about this. I bet a lot more people will be using OpenAI. And I want to point out, though, that this will heat up your phone. It uses some processing, whatever they're doing. Well, that's probably also the screen recording and things like that, but my phone definitely is heating up, so some of this is their app, so keep that in mind. Great stuff and we'll see you on another episode on the ICAST Network. So thank you everybody, and we'll see you next time. Bye everyone.
